After the fall of the Berlin Wall, the borders between the Western and the Eastern Europe opened. For some years already, a great number of students from the Eastern European countries have had the possibility to pursue their studies in France, notably, in the Aix-Marseille Academy. Their number is in a permanent growth. Some of them stay in our department, integrate the local universities, companies, hospitals, etc. While noticing this phenomenon the idea to meet around an associative structure was born. So, in February 2006, we proceeded to the creation of the association Cap d' Est (Circle of friends of Eastern countries) which assembles students and researchers originated from the Eastern European countries.

In several words, the association " Cap d' Est " will set itself as an objective various cultural, educational and sports activities, to promote and conserve the cultures and traditions of the Eastern European countries.

The logo of our association is the stalk of wheat. First of all, because the wheat is the symbol of the revival, and then because the grains of wheat resemble us as far as they are gathered on the same root even if they look at different directions.

The doors of the association are opened to everyone. Together we can make a good team and realize ambitious projects.
